Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of English courses taken by 45 undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Oradea’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, who are currently employed part-time or participating in internships in electrical engineering and IT. This is done by analyzing responses to a questionnaire filled in by the participants, aiming to determine how the topics and concepts covered in the University's ESP classes relate to their current work. Additionally, it attempts to assess how well the English language course can develop skills that are potentially helpful to future engineers in the fields of IT and electrical engineering. Finally, the study emphasizes the importance of including supplementary courses such as English language study and English for Specific Purposes in engineering faculty curricula.
